Southern Guilford can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Northeast Guilford Rams by a score of 61-48. The Storm's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Courtney Griffith had a dynamite game for Southern Guilford, going 6 for 10 on her way to 22 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Slaughter, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sasha Brower, who earned eight points along with nine boards and four steals. Anaya Pearley was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Southern Guilford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Northeast Guilford, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Southern Guilford will welcome Southwest Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northeast Guilford, they will head out to challenge Western Guilford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Guilford is facing Western Guilford at the right time seeing as Western Guilford is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
