The North Hagerstown Hubs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the South Hagerstown Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. North Hagerstown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully South Hagerstown likes a good challenge.
North Hagerstown pushed their score all the way to 71 last Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 82-71 to Williamsport. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (69), North Hagerstown still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Brady Walters, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Landon Somerville was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, North Hagerstown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsport only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Hagerstown had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against Williamsport by a score of 65-52.
North Hagerstown's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for South Hagerstown, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
North Hagerstown came out on top in a nail-biter against South Hagerstown in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 67-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Hagerstown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
