Baseball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shenandoah Valley Academy last Tuesday, Eastern Mennonite came back down to earth. The Flames lost 15-2 to the Blue Ridge Barons on Friday. The Flames haven't had much luck with the Barons recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Eastern Mennonite saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Stevenson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The Flames are 2-1 when Stevenson posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

Eastern Mennonite's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Blue Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Eastern Mennonite is set to take on their familiar foe Virginia Episcopal School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Blue Ridge will face off against rival Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
