The Roaring Fork Rams had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Cedaredge on Friday. For Roaring Fork, this counts as revenge for the 56-34 defeat Cedaredge walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Roaring Fork found their leader in underclassman Lucas Carballeira, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carballeira has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Hernandez, who scored eight points.
Cedaredge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan McIntire, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that McIntire scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Luke Maxey, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Cedaredge were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roaring Fork only posted three assists.
Roaring Fork's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Cedaredge, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-4 record last season and are now at 2-7.
Roaring Fork will be playing in front of their home fans against North Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (North Fork is ranked 208th, while Roaring Fork is ranked 206th). As for Cedaredge, they will head out on the road to take on Olathe at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
