Cromwell is 10-0 against McGregor since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Cromwell Cardinals will be playing at home against the McGregor Mercuries at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Cromwell is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McGregor in Minnesota (Cromwell is ranked 91st, while McGregor is ranked 244th).
Cromwell stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 81-45 win over Ogilvie. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Cromwell has posted since December 7, 2023.
Isabella Anderson was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emaleigh Olesiak, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, McGregor's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were beaten by Chisholm 84-51. McGregor has not had much luck with Chisholm recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Cromwell is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for McGregor, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Everything came up roses for Cromwell against McGregor in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-26 victory. Does Cromwell have another victory up their sleeve, or will McGregor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
