The Hillsborough Terriers pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Chamberlain by a score of 72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (61), Hillsborough still had to take the loss.
DeVonte Spears was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points for Chamberlain. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Spears has scored at least 25% of Chamberlain's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dijon Vaughn-Dixon, who scored 19 points.
Hillsborough has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Chamberlain, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsborough is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Gaither at 8:00 p.m. on January 10th. Gaither is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Chamberlain, they will head out on the road to face off against East Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
