Avonworth had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past the Penn Cambria Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 31-15. The win was just business as usual for the Antelopes, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.

It was another big night for Luca Neal, who rushed for 141 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, and also picked up 115 receiving yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 68 yards. Carson Bellinger was another key player, having thrown for 253 yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Avonworth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Avonworth's defense stepped up as well, laying out Brady Jones three times. Leading the way was Jackson Krul with two sacks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game. Another thorn in Penn Cambria's side was Bryce Metz, who made 14 total tackles and defended two passes.

Penn Cambria's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jones, who threw for 226 yards and a pair of TDs. The Panthers' leading receiver Blake Lilly was Jones' top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Avonworth's record is now 14-0. As for Penn Cambria, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-3 record.

Coming up, Avonworth will challenge Northwestern Lehigh on Saturday. The Antelopes will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Penn Cambria does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
