The Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Bethesda Christian Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Greenwood Christian Academy turned things around against Indianapolis Shortridge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 24-1 margin over the Blue Devils. That looming 24-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.
Caden Camden and Carson Boyce made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Camden pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Boyce tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Camden has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Camden went 3-for-6 with three runs and two RBI, while Boyce went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Greenwood Christian Academy is undefeated when Camden posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Greenwood Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Brandt Kieninger, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Kieninger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Sookram, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Greenwood Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indianapolis Shortridge only posted an OBP of .368.
Bethesda Christian came out on top against Liberty Christian on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fifth inning. The Patriots blew past the Lions 17-3. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Bethesda Christian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Greenwood Christian Academy skirted past Bethesda Christian 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
