A Season-Best Performance from Benjamin Moya Leads Mar Vista over San Ysidro
On Friday, Mar Vista got the W thanks in part to Benjamin Moya playing the best football he has all season. Moya rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.
With the victory, Mar Vista broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6. Their road trip will continue as they head out to face Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mar Vista's six-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Peter Thomas. San Ysidro had no answer to Thomas on Friday as he rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 130 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in rushing yards.
On the year, Thomas has thrown 10 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 117.4 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had one passing touchdown.

Dario Garcia Turns in Season-Best Performance
San Ysidro came up short on Friday despite Dario Garcia delivering his best game to date. Garcia rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 80 yards.

Conner Davis Puts an End to Southwest SD's Losing Streak on Friday
Conner Davis helped snap Southwest SD's three-game losing streak. Davis turned in nothing short of a gem on Friday, making four total tackles and defending a pass. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Southwest SD pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Davis and Southwest SD will face off against Mar Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fewell Made His Presence Known in Mar Vista's 36-35 Win
Thanks in part to Ciontae Fewell, Mar Vista said goodbye to their six-game losing streak. Fewell was dynamite on Friday, rushing for 97 yards on only eight carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making four total tackles.
This year, Fewell has averaged 42.7 receiving yards per game.
