Basketball Game Preview: Green Mountain Rams vs. Copper Hills Grizzlies

Having just played yesterday, the Green Mountain Rams will jump right back in to play the Copper Hills Grizzlies at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Green Mountain is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Jasper-Troupsburg: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Green Mountain blew Jasper-Troupsburg out of the water with a 70-30 final score. The game marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.

Sam Mielenz and Ben Swanson were among the main playmakers for Green Mountain as the former went 9 of 19 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Those 17 points gave Swanson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Corbin Wade, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Green Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Copper Hills was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 69-64 to Tennessee. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Copper Hills and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Green Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
