The Andover Golden Warriors had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against Weymouth by a score of 26-14 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but Andover sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dante Berger, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jason DeJesus, who gained 118 total yards and a touchdown.
Andover pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.2 points per game. As for Weymouth, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Andover will square off against St. John's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's Prep is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Weymouth will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Walpole at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
