After flying high against Union last Wednesday, North Duplin came back down to earth. The North Duplin Rebels took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Neuse Charter Cougars on Friday. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maggie Brown, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tateyawna Faison, who had seven points in addition to ten boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, North Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.
Neuse Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yedidia Tsolenyanu led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
