Luke Zsido of Cornwall Central ran for the longest rushing play in Section 9 A this season against Port Jervis last week. Zsido's team defeated the Raiders as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 151 in all.
Cornwall Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Port Jervis, 42-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Cornwall Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mike White has thrown for 1261 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Alex Cruz has 20 catches for 467 yards. Zsido leads the league in rushing with 616 yards.
A big matchup in Section 9 A this week will be when the Dragons take on Goshen Central. At the moment, Cornwall Central is in first, while the Gladiators are in fourth.
The Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,607 from 9,905. The advance stemmed from a 42-6 victory over Port Jervis last week.
