After flying high against Granville Christian Academy last Wednesday, the Wellington School Jaguars came back down to earth. Wellington School fell 36-26 to Mt. Gilead on Saturday. Mt. Gilead's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith White, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. White continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Danielle Pohlkotte was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two blocks.
Wellington School's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Mt. Gilead, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-11.
Wellington School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mt. Gilead will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Newark Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Newark Catholic will roll in looking for their 23rd straight win, something Mt. Gilead surely won't give up without a fight.
