Baseball Recap: Southwest Drops Highest Score of Season Against Carter

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Oak Cliff, Southwest was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Carter Cowboys as the Southwest Raiders made off with an 8-2 win. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ricky Winters was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Diego Moran, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Southwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carter only posted an OBP of .348.

Southwest's record now sits at 2-4. As for Carter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Southwest has already played their next matchup, a 17-2 loss against South Oak Cliff on the 7th. Carter will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Dallas at 4:30 p.m. on March 11th. North Dallas has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Carter will no doubt try to take advantage of.
