Overlake had to endure a 16-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They managed a 42-38 victory over the University Prep Pumas on Friday. The Owls' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Overlake's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for University Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Overlake Owls take on the South Whidbey Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for University Prep, they and Northwest will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. University Prep is facing Northwest at the right time seeing as Northwest is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
