A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lennox Academy Panthers challenge Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Lennox Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
On Friday, Lennox Academy made easy work of Smidt Tech and carried off a 12-2 victory. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Valeria Lopez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lopez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ziurell Ruiz, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another was Angely Robledo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bishop Conaty-Loretto didn't have quite enough to beat Ramona Convent on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Like Lennox Academy, Bishop Conaty-Loretto also got a great game from a two-way player: Lauren Castillo. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Castillo has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Lennox Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lennox Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. However, it's not like Bishop Conaty-Loretto struggles in that department as they've averaged .487. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
