St. Mary's-Colgan added to the longest winning streak in Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee this week by beating Frontenac, 26-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Girard was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. The Trojans vanquished Southeast 37-31 earlier in the week.
Galena's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyler Cook threw for 110 yards and Logan Johnson had 65 yards receiving. On the ground Gabe Helton contributed 220 yards.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Cook and Johnson proved tough for Northeast to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Helton was a beast in the backfield as Galena defeated the Vikings.
Aaron Cockerel was a key player and the best on defense this week as Beau Sarwinski's team topped Northeast. The 5-foot-10 senior.
Helton provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Bulldogs defeated Phil Hobbs' team. Helton's favorite target this week was Johnson, who caught 2 passes for 65 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Riverton's Chandler Underhill and Landon North have proven to be a lethal combination. Underhill has thrown for 776 yards this season, while North has 21 catches for 526 yards. Galena's Helton leads the league in rushing yards with 605.
At the moment, the Bulldogs are in second, while Columbus is in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when Galena and the Titans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 167 this season, while Columbus has scored 120. Galena scored 43 points last week as it defeated the Vikings.
Girard and the Lancers played the most contested game in Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee this week, with Girard eventually emerging with a 37-31 victory.
