Volleyball Recap: Nipomo Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Nipomo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Orcutt Academy Spartans on Tuesday as Nipomo made off with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Spartans on March 8th, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

The win didn't come easy: Orcutt Academy scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-20.

Alex Cortez paced Nipomo's offense, picking up 12 kills. Cortez got some help from Chase Spicer and his 30 assists. William Hidinger controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, Orcutt Academy still got an impressive performance from Charlie Stewart, who had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Stewart has posted over his last nine games.

Nipomo's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Orcutt Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.

Nipomo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mission College Prep on the 27th. As for Orcutt Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Morro Bay on the 27th.
