There's no place like home for the Biggsville West Central Heat, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 61-48 win over Illini West on Saturday.
Shelby Bowman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 44 points and nine rebounds. That makes it 25 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Biggsville West Central's points. Another player making a difference was Addie Seitz, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Biggsville West Central pushed their record up to 18-7 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Illini West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggsville West Central will square off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Illini West, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bombers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Macomb has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
