The Centennial Coyotes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Apollo with a sharp 61-40 win. The win was a breath of fresh air for Centennial as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Akasha Prpich was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 4 assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Centennial's points. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Mccort, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Apollo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will square off against Ironwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ironwood is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Apollo, they will head out on the road to challenge Paradise Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Paradise Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
