The Lakewood Gators will head out on the road to challenge the Crestwood Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Crestwood is ranked 13th).
Last Tuesday, Lakewood came up short against Darlington and fell 51-42.
The losing side was boosted by Cedric Cisse, who scored 17 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Brown, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Crestwood entered their tilt with Camden with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Crestwood claimed a resounding 71-44 victory over Camden on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Crestwood has posted since December 5, 2023.
Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Crestwood, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lakewood lost to Crestwood on the road by a decisive 88-72 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Lakewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
