Fort Campbell is 1-9 against the Colonels since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fort Campbell Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Christian County Colonels at 6:00 p.m. Fort Campbell is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 22-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Fort Campbell took a serious blow against the Tigers, falling 54-10.
Meanwhile, Christian County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Crittenden County out 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Christian County relied on the efforts of NeVaeh Day, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Anaysia Bagwell, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bagwell has scored at least a third of Christian County's points.
Fort Campbell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Christian County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Fort Campbell was dealt a bruising 69-18 defeat at the hands of the Colonels in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Fort Campbell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
