Prairie View Academy and Briarfield Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Prairie View Academy comes in on five and Briarfield Academy on four.
Last Friday, Prairie View Academy got the win against Christ Covenant by a conclusive 30-6. The 30-point effort marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Nathan Stokes was his usual excellent self, rushing for 79 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 137 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes. Those 137 passing yards gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Briarfield Academy against Tensas Academy on Friday as the squad secured a 52-6 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Rebels just coasted through the last quarter.
Briarfield Academy's win came from a few key players Prairie View Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davis Holt, who threw for 147 yards and four TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Jack Woodall helped Holt out on the ground, rushing for 89 yards and one score on only ten carries, while also catching one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Briarfield Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Prairie View Academy's record is now 5-0. As for Briarfield Academy, their record now sits at 4-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Prairie View Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Briarfield Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 191.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Prairie View Academy strolled past Briarfield Academy in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 by a score of 35-18. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
