The Platteview Trojans lost against the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Platteview had to suffer through a rough 49-21 loss at the hands of Ashland-Greenwood. Platteview has struggled against Ashland-Greenwood recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Platteview had strong showings from Reiman Zebert, who picked up 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Owen Stehlik, who threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns.
Drake Zimmerman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ashland-Greenwood, rushing for 168 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Zimmerman is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Thomas Spears made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ashland-Greenwood, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Platteview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ashland-Greenwood will look to defend their home field on Friday against Chadron at 7:00 p.m. Chadron will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Ashland-Greenwood is ranked fifth).
