Auburn is 9-1 against Blackstone Valley RVT since June of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rockets will square off against the Beavers at 11:00 a.m. Auburn is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Auburn's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Clinton's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Rockets put the hurt on the Gaels with a sharp 11-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kyle McLaughlin was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Owen Morrow was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Friedland, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Blackstone Valley RVT's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tantasqua Regional on Thursday. The Beavers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Blackstone Valley RVT saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Pilkington, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Auburn pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Blackstone Valley RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Auburn has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Blackstone Valley RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
