Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Skates Past Key West with Ease

Key West typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Westminster Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They claimed a resounding 65-38 win over the Key West Conchs. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Cooper Whitby continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 10 on his way to 21 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwight Whipple, who posted 12 points and seven assists.

Westminster Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Key West only racked up four assists.

Several Conchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kameron Roberts, who earned ten points and six rebounds. David Aviles was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

Westminster Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Key West, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Westminster Christian has already played their next match (against Florida Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Key West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-49 victory against IMG Academy Gray on the 18th.
