Fox Chapel walked away with a 50-42 win over Hampton. The victory was all the more spectacular given Fox Chapel's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Hampton is ranked 65th).
Fox Chapel was led to victory by Jefferson Moorefield-Brown and Will Siegel. Moorefield-Brown scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Siegel scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Moorefield-Brown's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Asher White, who scored eight points.
The victory got Fox Chapel back to even at 4-4. As for Hampton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fox Chapel will finish 2023 at home by hosting Taylor Allderdice at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor Allderdice is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Hampton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Altoona is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
