The Alva Goldbugs and the Kiefer Trojans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Alva Goldbugs had to settle for second. They suffered a rough 34-14 loss at the hands of the Trojans. Alva's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Alva still got an impressive performance from Lantz Mathers, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
Jaxon Worley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kiefer, rushing for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 145 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes. Worley was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.
Alva's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Kiefer, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Alva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kiefer will square off against Millwood at TBD on Friday. Millwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
