Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Avenal). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Alpaugh Buffalos 58-29. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buccaneers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Avenal's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Alpaugh, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avenal will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Minarets at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Alpaugh also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Riverdale Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Alpaugh is facing Riverdale Christian at the right time seeing as Riverdale Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
