I Section III recap September 4, 2013
Skyline's Logan Ruppert rumbled for the longest rushing play in I Section III this season in his game against St. Mary's last week. Ruppert's team bested the Knights as he sprinted for 99 yards on the play and finished with 293 in all.
Mountain View and Boulder Creek played the closest game in the league this week, with Mountain View eventually emerging with a 24-19 victory. John Clark threw for 229 yards and ran for 15 yards during the win.
Desert Mountain's dynamic duo of Kyle Allen and Mark Andrews proved to be unstoppable against Brophy College Prep, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Allen threw for 257 yards and Andrews had 106 yards receiving. Raul Martinez helped Desert Mountain's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 44 yards.
The Wolves' dynamic duo of Allen and Andrews proved tough for the Broncos to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Ruppert was the most successful running back in the league this week. Gabe Lopez also contributed to the rushing game with 142 yards on the ground.
Amonai itaaehau made the biggest impact on defense this week as Desert Ridge fell to Serra. The 6-foot-0 senior.
Andrews was the best receiver in I Section III this week as Desert Mountain lost to Brophy College Prep.
Ruppert was a force in the backfield as Skyline topped St. Mary's.
