The Wakeland Wolverines waltzed into Friday's contest with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 victory over Frisco. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wakeland also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Wakeland's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Cooper Snyder was the leader with two sacks.
Despite the loss, Frisco saw an underclassman step up: Cobyn Harbert threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.
Wakeland pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.33 points. As for Frisco, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Wakeland will take on Mansfield Timberview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Zuric Humes and Brennan Myer. As for Frisco, they will head out on the road to face off against Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
