The Mulberry Grove Aces were the 66-58 winner over First Baptist Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Mulberry Grove took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the on Monday. Mulberry Grove has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mulberry Grove's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Icenogle, who scored 15 points. Carter Scoggins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and two steals.
Mulberry Grove dropped their record down to 5-17 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for First Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Mulberry Grove will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Griffins at 7:30 p.m.
