The Wahoo Warriors will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Beatrice Orangemen on February 3rd. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Thursday, Wahoo faced the Cardinals in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wahoo took a 90-81 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Wahoo might have lost, but man, Marcus Glock was a machine: he scored 54 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Glock has scored all season. Dylan Simons was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Wahoo struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Beatrice pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The matchup between them and Norris wasn't particularly close, with Beatrice falling 71-56. While losing is never fun, Beatrice can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Titans are ranked third).
Wahoo's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Beatrice, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
Wahoo beat the Orangemen 46-38 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wahoo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
