The Evansville Harrison Warriors stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 84-47 win over Owensboro at home. Given Evansville Harrison's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 16th in Indiana, while Owensboro is ranked 100th in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Evansville Harrison was led to victory by Shane Sims and Malachi Mcnair. Sims scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Mcnair dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sims pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jay Summitt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten assists and seven rebounds.
Evansville Harrison's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Owensboro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.
Evansville Harrison will be playing in front of their home fans against Evansville Bosse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Owensboro is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Christian County at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th.
