The South Point Red Raiders pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Fort Mill. South Point lost against Fort Mill in their previous head to head back in December of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-55 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why South Point lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christian Petty. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with 3 steals. Graham Williams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Fort Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Parker led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Christian McCain , who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds.
South Point's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Mill, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
South Point's road trip will continue as they head out to face Palisades at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Palisades focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Fort Mill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Christ Church Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Christ Church Episcopal will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
