Basketball Recap: Tristine Turner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Midland Legacy over Permian

After soaring to 65 points the game before, Midland Legacy was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. The game between them and the Permian Panthers didn't end well, with the Midland Legacy Rebels falling 45-27. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Panthers are ranked 136th).

Midland Legacy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristine Turner, who posted three points and three blocks. Turner has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Diego Rodriguez, who earned eight points and three steals.

Midland Legacy is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-12. As for Permian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
