The Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Prairie Heights Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Elkhart Christian Academy has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 14.
Elkhart Christian Academy managed to slip by Lakeland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Lakers on Friday, falling 11-0.
Elkhart Christian Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Naomi Herbster, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. That double was Herbster's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Prairie Heights can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Edon with a sharp 14-3 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Hayley Hardy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Hardy was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Emily McCrea was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Olivia Boots, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Prairie Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Prairie Heights' record now sits at 4-9. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Elkhart Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Prairie Heights in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
