The Ellet Orangemen's's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 75-66 to Streetsboro on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (56), Ellet still had to take the loss.
Caitlyn Holmes and Sanaiiya Gray certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Holmes scored 29 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while Gray dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Holmes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacai Singletary, who scored 6 points.
Ellet struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Streetsboro racked up 19.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Streetsboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naomi Benson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Olivia Johnson-Wilson, who scored 14 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Ellet now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Streetsboro, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellet will challenge East at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Streetsboro, they will head out on the road to face off against Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th.
