The Wesson Cobras will head out on the road to face off against the Bogue Chitto Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wesson is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wesson beat West Lincoln 45-41.
Kemari Brown and Omari Johnson were among the main playmakers for Wesson as the former scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and the latter scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Austin Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bogue Chitto unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Franklin County by a score of 60-57. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Bogue Chitto came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Franklin County is ranked 211th).
Wesson's victory bumped their season record to 2-7 while West Lincoln's loss dropped theirs to 3-6.
Wesson suffered a grim 58-33 defeat to Bogue Chitto in their previous matchup back in November. Can Wesson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
