North Point will be up against a hot Northern team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Patuxent on Wednesday.
Northern got a big performance out of Madison Jewett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brooke MacAulay, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, North Point can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Thomas Stone as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Alyssa Blaney made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Sophia Weedin was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Jordyn Williams also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
North Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas Stone only posted an OBP of .111.

Northern's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Patriots have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for North Point, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Northern continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Northern's way against North Point when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Northern made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
