The Arabia Mountain Rams had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against Greene County by a score of 65-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Julian Shanks was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Arabia Mountain's points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Smith, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Arabia Mountain's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Greene County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arabia Mountain and Chamblee will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Chamblee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday. Greene County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th.
