The Decatur Bulldogs were the 70-50 winner over the Chamblee Bulldogs when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Decatur fell to Chamblee 57-51.
Despite the loss, Decatur saw an underclassman step up: Nadiya Mohamed scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Mohamed scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ta'lor Owens, who scored 12 points.
Decatur has fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Chamblee, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mays at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Mays presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Decatur in Georgia (Mays is ranked 136th, while Decatur is ranked 366th). Chamblee will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arabia Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
