The Bel Air Highlanders lost against the Hanks Knights back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bel Air fell 43-36 to Hanks. Bel Air has not had much luck with Hanks recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Bel Air lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Favela. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with two steals. Korryn Barnes was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Hanks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Israel Gonzalez, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Reveles, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Bel Air's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Hanks, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-13.
Bel Air will be playing at home against Ysleta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Hanks, they will head out on the road to face off against Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
