The Waukegan Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 49-20 loss at the hands of Lake Forest. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Waukegan has suffered since December 22, 2023.
Despite the defeat, Waukegan saw an underclassman step up: Aaliaya Cade scored 11 points. That was a full 55% of Waukegan's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Waukegan's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Lake Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waukegan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Niles West at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th. As for Lake Forest, they will head out on the road to challenge Libertyville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Libertyville will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
