The University Trailblazers won the last time they faced the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils, and things went their way on Thursday too. University walked away with a 49-40 victory over Indianapolis Shortridge. The win made it back-to-back wins for University.
University was led to victory by Mackenzie Feeney and Charlotte Conyers. Feeney dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Conyers scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The match was Conyers' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anyah Jordan-Turley, who scored ten points along with three steals.
University is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will face off against Bethesda Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Indianapolis Shortridge is on the road again on Saturday and play against Anderson Prep Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Anderson Prep Academy is ranked 288th, while Indianapolis Shortridge is ranked 276th).
