Del Sol is 0-6 against Silverado since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. Del Sol will square off against Silverado at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Silverado will be up against a hot Del Sol team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Del Sol put the hurt on Sunrise Mountain with a sharp 21-5 victory on Thursday.
Erik Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Gonzalez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since March 3rd.

In other batting news, Tony Luna was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of George Morales, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Silverado faced Spring Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Silverado never let Spring Valley get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Skyhawks.
Like Del Sol, Silverado also got a great game from a two-way player: Giovanni Guariglia. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Guariglia has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Silverado got a massive performance out of Hogan Hawkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jayden Orphan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Silverado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Silverado's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Del Sol, their record now sits at 7-5.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Del Sol has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .558. However, it's not like Silverado struggles in that department as they've averaged .457. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Del Sol might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Silverado in their previous meeting on March 8th. Can Del Sol avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
