Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Downtown Magnets turned things around against USC-MAE on Monday. They blew past the Trojans 3-0. The Suns not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 3-0).
Downtown Magnets' got stronger as the match went on, holding USC-MAE to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Downtown Magnets to victory, but perhaps none more so than Scarleth Orellana, who had 28 assists and six aces. Those 28 assists gave Orellana a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalin Ea, who had seven digs, five kills, and five aces.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Animo Bunche, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against USC-MAE on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Animo Bunche was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-12.
Downtown Magnets' win bumped their record up to 5-8-1. As for Animo Bunche, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
