2A/3A KingCo recap October 29, 2013
Juanita was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 2A/3A KingCo. The Rebels vanquished Lake Washington 20-7 earlier in the week.
Bellevue added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Liberty, 38-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Wolverines.
Tavin Montgomery was a passing and rushing force as Juanita defeated the Kangaroos. He completed 10 passes for 153 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 20 yards. Montgomery's key target this week was Salvon Ahmed, who caught 4 passes for 114 yards.
Nick Young and Elliott Phillips gave Lake Washington a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Young threw for 165 yards and 1 touchdown, while Phillips ran for 83 yards.
Juanita's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Montgomery has thrown for 1,595 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Landyn Milburn has 45 catches for 776 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bellevue takes on Mercer Island. At the moment, Butch Goncharoff's team is in first, while the Islanders are in fourth.
Mount Si took down Mercer Island 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
