Fairview waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Miller City Wildcats.

Zane Timbrook made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Carter Hill looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

Back at the plate, Drayden Grinnell-Dennis was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Mack, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fairview's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Miller City, their loss dropped their record down to 23-5.

Fairview and Miller City are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Apaches will host Cincinnati Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miller City, they will take on Montpelier at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.9, the Locomotives 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
